May 31, 2022
LHI continues its series of investments for institutional investors in renewable energiesThe investment fund LHI Green Infrastructure Invest II, which was launched for institutional investors, is now fully invested with a total investment volume of approx. 350 million euros and 220 MW nominal capacity. The successor product LHI Green Infrastructure Invest III will be launched in June.
The approval of BaFin has already been obtained.
Just like its two predecessor funds, the investment product, designed as a special AIF, fulfils the requirements of Article 9 of the Disclosure Regulation. The intention is to build up a European portfolio consisting of wind farms, solar parks and hydropower. The focus is also on grids and storage facilities as well as other renewable energy technologies. Investments will be made in countries with low political risks, such as Germany, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden. The total investment volume of the special AIF is expected to be 400 to 500 million euros.
Renewable energy projects offer investors attractive returns while meeting all sustainability targets. A low correlation with the capital market and partial inflation protection through participation in higher electricity revenues underline the attractiveness of the asset class.
To date, LHI has invested in 35 wind farms, 43 solar parks and 6 hydropower plants with a total volume of around 1.7 billion euros. The total nominal output of all renewable energy projects is 964 MW/MWp. In 2021 alone, the plants saved 354,721 t of CO2.
